( mandy, me, ricki, ricki's mom)Today I ran the 10k race in Springdale (right outside Zions National Park). I'd never ran a 10k before this. I'd never even ran over 5 miles before today. All I have to say about it is...that it was fun, hard, I'm annoyed that I didn't push myself harder, I had GREAT running company, and I'm slow. How did I do?...slow, that's how i did. I ran it in 54 min (8.4 min/mile=Slow)
As I ran past the 5 mile marker all I could think was "Why on earth am I doing this???I don't even like running. I could have totally bought a cute new shirt, or gotten a pedicure...But no, I Paid to do THIS?" But then as soon as I crossed the finish line, I was thinking about how I can train to run it faster next time.
It's an unexplainable addiction.

Impressive Rach. I don't think you could pay me to do that. Although I wish I liked to run. Maybe someday you will inspire me to run!
You go girl!! I admire you for running more than a mile which is more than I would ever do!! I hate running!! Cute spandex too :)
Good Job- Congrats, that race is worth all the money, just for the scenery. Can I run with you next year?
Really I wanted to run it so bad and then Kasey all the sudden had to work I really am so so jealous which is weird cause I really dont enjoy running all that much but I need a goal to get me to work just a little harder everyday I hate not running with you guys hopefully when kasey is done with school I can start again, 1 month hurray!!!!
Hey that is NOT slow!! You only finished a couple minutes behind me and I thought I did good!! I keep thinking I should have pushed myself harder too, since I wasn't even dizzy like you and RIcki! Good thing I didn't think about the new shirt or pedicure.. WE did great and it was all worth it in the end!! Are you sore today??? I am!
Oh, BTW... Where the heck am I looking in that picture??? Maybe I was looking at the guy with the muscle roller? I look a little scary!
Let's go get the Pedicure and a new shirt anyways since we all did so well!!! I think that sounds like a great idea! Thanks for running with me, I couldn't have done all that training without you! We need to keep running, though! If we slack off I will get fat so you have to keep running with me! I am still laughing about you saying those are 80's tights! I don't really see it, but it still makes me laugh!
I wish you played basketball, now there's something we could do together.
Good for you Rach. I hate running and to pay to run....no way! You look great, so it does make me want to run, but im lazy and thats what it comes down to!

Slow?? You call that Slow?? You are crazy. I think you guys did awesome. After eVERY race that I finished, I would always say, "if I just could have picked it up a little faster.." I think your right, that is where this crazy addiction begins. There's a half marathon in January??? You could try to run faster for that one!

I wouldn't say you were slow! That's seriously awesome that you did it at all! I always think that I would love to do something like that (not that I would enjoy doing it at all because I hate running) but just to accomplish something like that. Good for you!
I cant believe you think that 8.5 minute miles is slow! are you crazy! I am jealous you are running, and I can barley walk while carrying around a watermelon in my belly but worse even when I am not pregnant, it seems I cant run anymore!
Hey that was great Rach! That is not slow! Ok, I guess we all think we can go faster, but seriously...great job! I heard you did that because I figured out that we both know Mandy and she told me. I keep running into friends that are friends with you too and I keep thinking about when we are really going to hang out! LOL! Maybe when we are not working! Great Job girl!.
